If you wish to exercise one or more of the rights described above, please contact us using the contact details provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.

6. Is your personal data transmitted abroad?

As the Aliaxis Group operates worldwide, we may need to send your personal data to members of the Aliaxis Group or to third-party service providers located in countries other than the countries in which your personal data was originally collected.
In such cases, we will take appropriate precautions to ensure that an adequate level of protection is in place for all personal data that is transmitted.
In cases in which personal data concerning European residents is transmitted to countries outside of the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA), we will take the necessary steps to offer adequate data protection under EU law, such as signing EU standard contractual clauses with the recipient of the data.

7. Use of analysis tools/social media

a. Tracking tools
The tracking measures we use, as described below, are performed on the basis of Article 6(1) sentence 1f GDPR. We use these tracking measures to ensure that our website is designed to meet the needs of our users and is optimised on an ongoing basis. We also use the tracking measures to record statistics on the use of our website and to evaluate them in order to optimise the services we offer you. These interests are to be regarded as legitimate within the meaning of the aforementioned provision.

aa) Google Analytics
In order to ensure that our website is designed to meet the needs of our users and is optimised on an ongoing basis, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter referred to as “Google”). This involves the creation of pseudonymous user profiles and the use of cookies (see above). The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website such as

  • browser type/version,
  • operating system used,
  • referrer URL (the page previously visited),
  • host name of the accessing computer (IP address),
  • time of the server request,

is transmitted to, and saved on, a Google server in the US. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide other services related to website and Internet use for market research purposes, as well as to ensure user-oriented website design. This information may also be transmitted to third parties if this is required by law, or if third parties process this data as contract data processors. Your IP address will not, under any circumstances, be merged with other Google data. The IP addresses are rendered anonymous so that they cannot be traced back to specific individuals (IP masking).
You can set your browser software to prevent cookies from being installed. Please note, however, that if you do so, you might not be able to use all of the functions offered by this website.
You can also prevent Google from storing the data relating to your use of the website that is generated by the cookie (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing a browser plug-in (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).
As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially for browsers used on mobile devices, you can also prevent Google Analytics from capturing data by clicking this link. An opt-out cookie will be stored which prevents the collection of your data for future visits to this website. The opt-out cookie only applies in this browser and only to our website and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you will have to set the opt-out cookie again.
For more information about privacy in connection with Google Analytics, please visit Google Analytics Help, for example (https://support.google.com/analytics#topic=3544906).

b. Use of social media plug-ins

1. We are currently using the following social media plug-ins: Facebook, LinkedIn. We use something known as the two-click solution. This means that when you visit our site, no personal data is disseminated to the plug-in providers to begin with. You can recognise the plug-in provider from its initials or the logo that appears in the box. We allow you to use the button to communicate directly with the plug-in provider. It is only if you click on the marked field to activate it that the plug-in provider will be informed that you have accessed the corresponding website of our online offering. In addition, the data referred to in section 3 of this Privacy Policy will be transmitted. In the case of Facebook and Xing, the IP address will be rendered anonymous immediately after it is collected, according to the information supplied by the individual providers in Germany. This means that if you activate the plug-in, your personal data will be transmitted to the plug-in provider and stored there (in the US in cases involving US providers). As plug-in providers collect data via cookies, in particular, we recommend that you delete all cookies via your browser's security settings before clicking on the greyed-out box.
2. We have no control over the data collected or the data processing operations, nor are we aware of the full scope of data collection, the purposes of processing or the storage periods. Nor is any information available to us on the erasure of the data collected by the plug-in provider.
3. The plug-in providers store the data collected about you as user profiles and use these for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or to ensure user-oriented website design. These evaluations are carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) in order to display advertisements that suit your needs, and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, although you have to contact the plug-in provider in question in order to exercise this right. By offering the plug-ins, we allow you to interact with social networks and other users, meaning that we can improve our offering and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the use of the plug-ins is Article 6(1) sentence 1f GDPR.
4. The data is disseminated regardless of whether you have an account with the plug-in provider and are logged in to that account. If you are logged in with the plug-in provider, the data concerning you that is collected on our website will be directly assigned to your existing account with the plug-in provider. If you press the activated button and, for example, link the page, the plug-in provider will also store this information in your user account and communicate it publicly to your contacts. We recommend that you log out after using a social network on a regular basis, but especially before activating the button, as this allows you to prevent the plug-in provider from assigning the information to your profile.
5. Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by the plug-in providers can be found in the following data privacy statements released by these providers. These data privacy statements also contain further information on your rights in this regard and the settings that you can use to protect your privacy.

If you are logged in to Google, your data will be directly associated with your account. If you do not want the data to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button. YouTube stores your data as user profiles and uses it for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or to ensure user-oriented website design. This occurs regardless of whether Google provides a user account that you are logged in to, or whether you do not have a user account. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be directly associated with your account. If you do not want the data to be associated with your Google profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data as user profiles and uses it for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or to ensure user-oriented website design. These evaluations are carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) in order to provide advertisements that suit your needs, and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, although you have to contact Google in order to exercise this right.

8. Safeguards for your personal data

We undertake to protect the confidentiality and security of the data you provide us with and we take appropriate technical, physical and organisational protection measures to protect the personal data concerning you that we collect and process from unauthorised access, damage, disclosure or loss.
We use the common SSL (Secure Socket Layer) method in connection with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser when you visit our website. This is generally 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead.
